When I start Internet explorer 6 in my windows-XP it freezes and unable to brows any thing?

Earlier also I had different problem with IE6, I was able to brows internet but unable to use search engine. When I type any word in Google or Yahoo and click search, IE6 gets freeze??!

What to do?

This could be related to some programs or softwares you have installed in your PC or downloaded from Internet, uninstall all non Microsoft and drivers software from your PC one by one and check if IE6 works normally. You can also confirm if any of these sofwares includes firewall, if yes then disable it.

If still the problem exists then your user profile may have problem. Create new user profile for your PC as follows.

1. Take backup of your files on the desktop, My documents and Internet favorites.
2. Press F8 Key while restarting the PC and select Start with safe mode.
3. Go to  “C:\Documents and Settings” and rename your user profile folder.
4. Restart the PC and now check IE6, it should be working normally.
