Unable to open a drive like C or D in My computer by double click, instead the search window is opened?

The same problem is present for opening folders.


What to do?

This problem mostly caused by virus, the virus did some change in some registry files.   To correct this change follow these easy steps.

For Folders.

1. Open run window from Start menu and type Regedit.
2. Expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT àDirectory à Shell
3. At the right side there is file called Default, double click it and write none in value data.  

For Drivers.

1. Open run window from Start menu and type Regedit.
2. Expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT àDrive à Shell
3. At the right side there is file called Default, double click it and write none in value data.

Note: You may need to restart your PC for new change to take effect.
